Biology of Histidine Methylation
Abstract:
We have been using a synthetic cofactor analog of SAM, ProSeAM to analyze novel substrates of lysine methyltransferases and their biological functions. Recently, we have been using the same method to characterize protein methyltransferases other than lysine residue and their functions. In this seminar, I would like to talk about our recent research progress on the His methyltransferases, whose modifications were reported more than 50 years ago, but the actual responsible enzyme has not been clarified.
