IJM Seminar – Morgan Delarue – 30/09/2022

Invited by Nicolas Minc, Morgan Delarue (Team MILE, LAAS-CNRS) will give on September 30th a seminar entitled:

Cell growth under mechanical pressure

Team MILE, LAAS-CNRS

Our research focuses on compressive mechanicalstress: What happens when cells are squished? What are the biological and physical determinants of the response to compression? Is there an evolutionarily conserved response? How does compressive stress shape pathogenecity? Compressive stresses are particularly important for cancer progression and treatment. Can we use our understanding of compressive stress to better diagnose / treat?
We study the impact of mechanical stress on cell physiology from both a physics and a biology standpoint, from a subcellular to a multicellular scale, developing original technologies for acute control and sensing of the mechanical and chemical environment.
