The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM), a leading center for fundamental interdisciplinary research in biology, is seeking to appoint at least two new group leaders.

The Institute comprises 28 international research groups working in the fields of biophysics, cell and developmental biology, evolution and genome biology. The IJM is affiliated with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and Université Paris Cité.

The Institut Jacques Monod benefits from a lively collaborative and inclusive scientific environment, which is supported by excellent core facilities providing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, light and electron microscopy, flow cytometry, genomics and animal housing. The Institute is located within the city of Paris. For detailed information, please visit our website.

Candidates should work in an area of fundamental biology aligned with research currently conducted at the Institute. The successful applicants will be selected based on their scientific excellence and their potential to complement and synergize with existing research within the Institute.

Upon their selection, successful applicants will then be expected to obtain research funding as well as a position with the CNRS or Université Paris Cité. The Institute will provide strong guidance and assistance with these steps.

Candidates should provide the following information in a single pdf file (Lastname_IJM_call.pdf): a cover letter explaining their motivation for joining the IJM; a document formatted using the application form, which comprises a C.V., a summary of scientific achievements, and proposed research program. Three reference letters should also be sent by the referees to director@ijm.fr.”

Application and queries should be sent by e-mail to Dr. Valérie Doye, the Institute Director (director@ijm.fr). The application should be received not later than 16 February 2024.
