The REPEATOME Thematic Network, accredited by the CNRS, brings together the French research community working on repetitive sequences in genomes. Drawing on a wide variety of organisms and experimental and computational approaches, REPEATOME addresses a wide range of biological questions, such as the contribution of repetitive sequences to genome structure, regulation, and evolution; species adaptation to environmental changes; their role in diseases; and the exploitation of certain properties in biotechnology and medicine.

The network is coordinated by Sandra Duharcourt (Institut Jacques Monod, Paris) and Emilie Brasset (iGReD, Clermont-Ferrand)
