At the Institut Jacques Monod (IJM), there exist permanent as well as temporary positions.

Permanent positions at the IJM

Most of the persons working at the IJM, be they of the CNRS, of the University Paris Diderot or of other higher-teaching or research establishments are civil servants, recruited by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique or the University Paris Diderot or of other higher-teaching or research establishments ; they have competed for public office and have been recruited. 
Nevertheless, you are free to contact the groups at the IJM whose research themes interest you to obtain information on the possibilities that might exist of welcoming you in their group.

Non permanent positions at the IJM

Post-docs:
It is recommenced that the person applying for a post-doctoral position directly contact the groups of the IJM whose research themes interest him.

Theses:
The candidate wishing to prepare a doctoral thesis must send the groups of the IJM whose research themes are of interest to him/her, a detailed CV about his/her studies and his/her laboratory training. This must be undertaken during his/her M2, since the application for scholarships takes place at the end of the academic year. The candidate can also search the web sites of the doctoral schools on which the laboratories connected with doctoral schools propose research themes.

Short training periods (Licence, Master 1, Master 2,...):
A student wishing to perform a short training period in a group of the IJM must send his/her CV to the groups whose research themes interest him/her; he/she should provide precise information regarding the dates of his/her training period, and the dates when he/she will deposit and present the work he/she performed during his/her training period.
Certain masters propose training periods and have specific groups that welcome trainees.

Other temporary positions:
Other temporary positions can be proposed by the IJM at any time of the year and for variable lengths of time ; click to find out current opportunities!
