Jeudi 9 et vendredi 10 juin 2011 : Colloque international "Genetics, Epigenetics and Evolution of Sex Chromosomes",
organisé sous l'égide de la Société Française de Génétique (SFG) et de l'Institut Jacques Monod
The question of reproduction and sex is central to the evolution of species. A wealth of mechanisms, including genetic and epigenetic regulations, controls sexualidentity.
The recent progress in our understanding of the mechanisms underlying sexual definition/reproduction to get her with the increasing number of fully sequenced eukaryote genomes are expected to provide new insights to these questions.
The aims of the upcoming meeting Genetics, Epigenetics and Evolution of Sex Chromosomes are to highlight recent breakthroughs frome ukaryotes including fungi, plants, insects and other invertebrates, fishes, birds and mammals, and to promote interactions between scientists from distinct fields but related topics of research.
