January 2011: Group Leader Position in the areas of Bioinformatics & Genome Function

The Institut Jacques Monod of Paris is seeking to recruit a highly motivated scientist or research team to carry out independent research in the areas of Bioinformatics & Genome Function.

The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative research project at the frontier between Genomics, quantitative modeling and Bioinformatics, studying quantitative aspects of genome organization, variability, expression, and/or dynamics and to establish fruitful interactions within the Genomes & Epigenomes program and with the various teams using high throughput technologies, including next generation sequencing. Both dry and wet-dry labs are welcome.

The Institut Jacques Monod is a leading French biological research institute, comprising 4 research Programs (Cell Biology; Development and Neurobiology; Genomes and Epigenomes; Molecular and Cellular Pathology) and about 30 interactive research groups.  Research at the Institute is supported by a range of cutting-edge core facilities including microarray and robotics, mass spectrometry, photonic and electronic microscopy, and also extensive animal facilities.
