    Imaging : December 4th – 8th 2006


    Goal:
    The aim of this module is to introduce students to emerging fluorescence microscopy techniques for spatio-temporal analysis of macromolecule interactions and their dynamics at the sub-cellular level, and to the micromanipulation of cells and biological objects by optical tweezers. The theoretical aspects (fluorescence, microscopy, force measurements…) and the methodologies (use of fluorescent proteins, GFP and spectral variants) will be presented concomitantly.
    Examples from the literature will be chosen and discussed to illustrate the biological problematics.

    This module is designed for PhD students in biology or at the physics-biology interface.
    Number of participants in the practical course : 12
