June 2012: Julien Dumont is prizewinner of the call for projects "Emergence(s)" of Paris

Julien Dumont is responsible for the group Cell division and reproduction, at the Institut Jacques Monod

His project bears on how division spindles are formed and chromosomes are separated in C. elegans oocytes.

The call for projects « Emergence(s) - Medical and Health Research » aims at supporting young and promising scientists, helping them constitute their team and pursue high quality research. The aim is to participate in promoting projects oriented toward new research areas.
Thanks to this program, the City of Paris gives priority to "risk taking" by supporting novel and original projects. The financial support of the City for 3 to 4 years, constitutes a type of induction from which the laureates will perpetuate their project.
